24/12

I spent Christmas in Pusan, the second largest city in South Korea.... let me tell you this the place was very crowded.... Koreans celebrate christmas with their friends and/or partner...

Anyway I meet up with Mi Hye and her friends, it was good to meet her friends, very good people, or so I think at least.

I just figured out I have to spend money over the next 30 days on Mi Hye, christmas present. 10 of January Mi Hyes birthday and 22 of January we have our 100 days as a couple... People in Korea like to spend a shitload of money on that day...

Anyone want to give me some money???

PC Bang

Well here I'm sitting with anoying kids to my left and a chain smokeing rigl to my right. the room is crowded with people, it's a common thing here in Korea to spend your weekend in a PX Bang or pc room.... it's crazy and smells bad but it's kind of funny to see, you pay around 1 dollar an hour to. it's cheap...

At the moment

At the moment my life is pretty anoying to myself...

1: I moved out from my dormitory (ET) and I'm now living at a motell.. Living at a motell is very crowded we are 3 guys crammed into on small room, we sleep on the wonderful stone floor... Stone is very hard by the way.

2: When we moved out from the dorm that meant bye, bye to Mi Hye or kind of at least, because she moves back to Busan now to live with her parent for 2.5 months then she's going to Japan.. Either way Korean culture is very bad in many ways ecpesially when it comes to girls parents... If her father could then he would probably want to kill me... or hurt me a little..

3: Mi Hye will get a part time job and study most of the time wich means that I won't see her much at all, she will probably work weekends..

4: I work now as you might now at a english Institue as a substitute teacher wich means that I can't see her much...

5: I'm hungry now and in a grumpy mood... ah my jesus.......

So much...

So much
Well since I last wrote much has happened...We had the closing cermoney for our program last week last tuesday if my memory serves me right. It was pain... I had to write a speach in Korean, or I had my friend revolution write it for me, he is a good guy (but a playboy nonetheless).

It took me forever to get thru my speach. We got the certificate saying we completed the program, it's a really nice certificate, the one we got from Handelsekonom is so crappy in comparisson.

After the cermony that lasted for 2 hours we went out to eat with our sponsors one last time, it was really funny everyone was drinking heavily. ^^We came home to English Town around 10 and then we decided to go to Cockstill (bar), some of us got really drunk it was really good to see.

Hmm then I had a few days of doing absolutly nothing... weekend was kind of funny I went with Mi Hye to Busan, one of her friends from high school opened a bar so she went there to help out. The bar was so, so kind of nice I guess, but it was all in black, that's kind of depressing..Anyway we spent the night in Busan* had an amazing dinner of pasta the day after, and then we fell asleep missing our stop on our way home to Inje...

I've now begun to work at TLC (Teaching Learning Center) as a substitue English teacher. It's so hard, some of the kids are really good (by korean standards) some of them can't understand the sentence "Do you understand?" I don't know I might resgn or get fired in a few weeks, It wasn't really what I thought it would be if I put it like that...

Anyway I have to go to lunch now and prepare for my students, smell you all later...Peace!

Folk Village

This wnesday the 15th of november we cramed our asses (9 adoptees one malaysian, two teachers and one bus driver) in a buss with 50 seats... Wate of resources you say, spacey I say..

Anyway the folk village was located 40 minutes from Seoul, if this doesn't say you anything, GImhae is about 5 hours from Seoul. So I seized this opportunity and went to Seoul..

Anyway the folk village was kind of boring. not fun at all, boring boring boring... I't like a gigantic pleace kill me now I'm so bored place... Well the highlights were two girls jumping up and down on wood board (in Swedish it's called gungbrada).

we was there for about 6 hours 1 would have been enough....

Peppero day 빼빼로

So the 11 november is a holiday invented by LOTTE (a company that practically owns everything in Korea), Peppero day.... Peppero is a long bredstick dipped in choclate, for thos of you who knows what Pocky is, peppero is the same thing but Korean name...

I've been dreading for this holiday for about a week, since I have a relationship and no idea what to do on this special holiday, I began to ask people. However everyone had a diff rent opinion on what to give, and not to give. In the end I was left alone...

So in the end I gave and made her some things it took me forever to make it but I think she was happy... I really hope she is...

Anyway we went on a date to the Jimjiriban, and we stayed there for two nights. It really changed my opinion of the jimjiriban, it might have been because I was with her this time and not alone ^^

peace out!

It's a beatiful day/days

Well yesterday was amazing and today was amazing. Why? 미혜 anyway It was great we went to pusan yesterday and I got to see some really intresting stuff near Hyundae (think the spelling is wrong). Hyundae is a big big beach in Pusan.

We strolled around there for a while, just in time to see the moon rise over the water... If you ever go to the same place I was at don't go alone on the bridges, all the couples walking around there might make you sick (if you are single).

It took around 1.30hour to get there and the same time to get back. Even though it fel like a eternity when you stand up in a bus, with a mad busdriver....

After that we went for dinner we ate some Noodle soup kind of amazing I have to say. The owner seemed to love me very much, or that's the impression I got out of it.. . or maybe she was just mocking my bad Korean (I know almost no Korean)..

Later we saw a movie in a DVD room ***** that was amazing she hadn't seen Big Fish so I forced here to see it.. .SHe liked it I think.. .

Today was a amazing day to, even though 미혜 left today... We had fun we watched a Korean movie, had lunch etc. all in all a good weekend so far...
My roomate just called me and said I should go out and drink but I think I will pass on that today.. .

http://www.inje.ac.kr/

Well If you want to see my girlfriend in movment go into http://www.inje.ac.kr/ and on the upper left of the page, press English, after that you will be directed to a new page. Scroll down on that page untill you see a button: INJE Video. Push that one and wait my girlfriend is the tennis player, you will see the most of her around 7.50 minutes in to the movie...

By the way the movie is propaganda for our school but it is really well made, it doesn't really look like that ^^

Hmm Random once again...

So I can't belive this I never ever in my life had this many mosquito bites... I don't know what wrong with the climate here, they just don't die.. I usually get an average of 4 bites a day here... and each bite itches for maybe 4 days... at least... I hat that, my feets are full of scratch marks...

Another thing that's really starting to show is the fattigue of the students and there studying. I'm so happy that I don't really have a midterm, that's compareble to theirs...

Hmm what else this last week has been rather boring nothign special really happened.

Midterms, study rooms=many Koreans

So next week is midterms here at INJE, that basicly means that everyone is studying their asses of... instead of studying 12 hours a day (most Koreans do that), they study 16-18 hours a day now instead. One can really wonder how good that is for the body...

It's kind of funny seeing people falling asleep in funny places, cafe,s study rooms, benches, etc. If you read about hte Jimjiriban part, you know that they can sleep on stone, so they can sleep anywhere...

Hmm other intresting things that have happened is that we visited a army base yesterday (monday). It was kin of intresting... We talked about North Koreas nuclear tests and how that affected the millitary... The anwser was no we already knew that something like this might happen. It also seems that the media blows the whole thing up. The average Korean doesn't seem to giva a shit about it actually..

As my roomate said, Nobody cares...

Ah well my language class starts soon, followed by an amazing lunch (hopefully), then it's the most boring class of the week Korean culture...

Up the mountain, up the mountain....

So this saturday we went up a mountain, Koreans really love to go hikeing in the mountain... It was amazing in many ways, amazingly hard, amazing view, amzingly boring, amazing all in all.

It was very steep, for you who actully now the hill in Ljungskile called hallebacken (steep hill in Ljungskile). think of walking a steeper hill for 2 hours... your legs don't feel to good after that... However the Koreans I talked to said this is nothing... You should see the mountain at that place, bla bla bla... I don't know if that's nothing I don't want to be apart of it.

I had very expensive cat fish for lunch, it was awful... Never having that again...

Weekly summary...

So hmm some highlights of this week, my f***ing cold is actually gone, today was the first day of my cold free life.. How fair is that a cold that actually sits in for almost two weeks...

Hmm Eric the american fratboy (adoptee acts like he's 16 but he is really 23) had his birthday. He's been talking since day one how he,s going to black out on his birthday... When the day finally arrived this wensday, he wasn't even tipsy. I don't know if I talked about the subject before in my psots, but if you are in korea, you add one year to your age (usually can be more) so if you are born in 1984 you are in fact 23. I don't know why you just do it... As my roomate said: Why do you want to learn? Just eat it!! (it's his answeres to my endless questions about the korean language).

Anemaes boyfriend magnus went back home to Sweden after one week or maybe it was some more days, anyway why pay so much money to come here, and not stay longer... I have no idea why, it's stupid to me.

Sven if you read this, I want you to know, Korea is the best place if you want to have a black belt quick, it takes about a year to get a black belt ^^

I counted my mosquitoe bites yesterday (thursday) I have 16 on my right foot for some reason... It's annoying, I think all in all I have about 40 mosquitoe bites. I'm really thinking if it was good not to take the shot for Japanese Encefalit (it's kind of hard to get, but not good if you get it and yes you get it from mosquitoes)...

The girl I'm intrested in seperated from her boyfriend, that's good for me...

Hmm this thursday we actually went to a concert a classical concert here in Gimhae. It was amazing for me because I really like that kind of music, some of the adoptees were complaining (like always). It was nice to be in a concert hall for a change, good seats and good music. Something diffrent from our regular nights at ET either in the lounge (watching a movie). Or me laying in my bed curseing to anyone who wants to hear about unfair love etc...

So this summary would take us untill about today or rather thursday night maybe 01.00 (something) . I really tried my best to study to a Korean language test that we were supposed to have on friday (by the way I failed, so much... It's not my fault that they made a language no one can understand... )... Yeah I tried to study it didn't go to well because I was thinking on somone else every 3-5 minutes (yeah you guys no who I'm talking about). Since my body doesn't work as it should when I'm in love, it shuts down, becomming a useless lump of crap...

Anyway I fell asleep around 02.00 (something). I got a phone call (around 03.00 I was sleeping) from the girl and she says bla bla bla, hmm we can't see eachother tomorrow, my friend can't join us. (You guys don't know what I'm talking about, we were supposed to meet on friday, me the girl I like, plus her friend, long story short.)..

Some of you might think, you go man, you can be alone with her, the whole day of tomorrow. I don't work that way, in my fucked up state of newly awoken, I say hmm that's to bad, bla bla bla... luckily for yours truly, her phone gets fucked up and the call gets interrupted. So I can actually process what she said to me... My friend couldn't come with us...... after repeating that in my head 10 times... I see the potential of what she was actually saying...
Even more lucky for me she callse me back after 3 minutes. I ask her if she still wants to meet, and she says: Yes ofcourse I want to meet you (I'm not surprised really, I mean who wouldn't want to meet me? (^0^)V). awhile later I fall asleep high on dopamins... I wake up around 07.00 (calling her again), after a steady breakfast consisting on nothing I go to write my test..... As I mentioned before I failed it... So I have a homework big as a house untill monday.

Anyway I was supposed to meet the girl (Mye Hye) at 구보 station (Guppo) 11.45 I was thiking I had all the time in the world around 10.45 I realized two things, I don't know where Guppo station is and I don't know how long time it takes to get there... I ran to the bus stop after that. I started to talk with a girl Juncha her English was amazing, she told me she never been abroad (i'm not sur I belive her though...).. Anyway she helped me get on the right bus and the right station (she was takeing the same bus as me). We talk about random things, she's a funny girl.

FF (fast forward) awhile.
We go to a place called Miryang and watch some amazing buildings and relics, I really enjoyed, or to be honest I proabably enjoyed the company and I don't really care were we are, but I did enjoy the scenery... If you're ever near Miryang do me a favour and go to the temples around there, it's well worth it.

All in all I had a great day with Mye Hye, I actually think we have a relationship now.... life is good.

FF again to this evening actually.
I come into my dorm with Mye Hye around 10.00 1 hour later people come into my room and start calling me on the internal phone... Do you have a girlfriend now??? For some reason somone saw us holding hands in Korea that means = couple. People have to much time on their hands at my dorm that's for sure...

Jimjiriban (I don't think the spelling is right)

So this weekend I went to Pusan (I was still sick) to celebrate Rob's birthday, and to see Anemaes boyfriend form Sweden. Well it was kind of okay, I guess it would have been so much better if I didn't have a certain someone on my mind all the time.

I hate hate being intoxicated (is that right spelling) by girls, because the way I work is that my whole system decides to go bye bye. Sleeping doesn't work, studying doesn't work, eating doesn't work either. Nothing works besides thinking on that girl... So that's what I did 95% of the time (the other 5% was thinking oh god I want to get rid of this cold)..

The club we went to it's name was Foxy something. The club was great or it would have been great but to me it sucked, I really didn't want to be there... anyway after the club the others 9 people went home I decided to stay in Pusan (Busan), I didn't want to go to a hotel, I heard about this public bathhouse called Jimjiriban, where you can actually sleep (many drunk people do that it's cheaper than a motel).

At the jimjiriban you cna take a bath and shower and take a sauna. it's really popular amongst older women, because they belive it's good to sleep in warm temperature. Anyway after I've taken a Shower I really wanted to sleep it was 05.00 in the morning. My friends had told me that you can get a blanket and something to sleep on.. In my case the blanket is more like a towel, and what you sleep on is actual a towel to... the pillow is rock hard, and the floor well that's heated stones... The thing about stone is that it's fucking hard... not like wood hard, it just hard. I couldn't sleep after one minute on one side, it hurt like hell, so u had to switch every minute. well it was actually mixed man and women, people lying everywhere in this huge room an amazing sight for someone who has never have seen it, however if you are tired and drunk, you don't want to see other people sleeping like babies. While u can't get a minute's sleep because of the constant pain, in all your bones, joints and everything else for that matter.

Sunday I spent alone I was supposed to spend it with my friend, but she had to take care of her grandfather. I spent many hours in this big department store called Lotte (really big....)

the time after that is for me to know and for you guys to find out... ^^

Now it's Chosuk here in Korea the biggest holiday of the year.. So every student from the University is going home to their parents. This week is probably going to be amazingly boring.. well I will survive...

Time Stop

This would be so awesome if I had this between 20.00-10.30 yesterday....

WTFFCMFBCSW

Well when I first started this post it was about 03.30 or something I was so confused and brainhacked, and god knows what. For you people who actully read my posts, you know that I according to myself have major girl problems... I had to drop the post in the middle of writing and start over again... Why? read please...

Hmm to start of this post I will tell you abut my day. the day after MT me and my roomate decided to go to Pusan. Pusan is so big that's it's very frightening. I would get lost in an instant and never find my way back to my dorm. Maybe it's the lack of experiencing big cities... Either way I feel so insignificant...

Anyway it turned out that Sun didn't have anything to do so she called me and my roomate to see what we were up to. Naturally we offered her to tag along and so she did. we took bus number 8 from INJE to Pusan. The busdrivers in Korea seem to not fear instant death because they drive insanely, not giving a shit about people falling down, and speedlimits signs, no they don't see them.

The reason for going to Pusan was simple I needed T-shirts. It took me about 6 hours to find two that actually looked like shit. The reason for that is that Koreans think it's cold now. I can't see how 26-28 degrees celcius can be cold, but hey I didn't grow up here... Anyway so cloth stores actually only sell lon sleeved T-shirts and not short sleeved... I wanted short sleeved, but at last we actually found some...

After that we were on our way home, here I started to sms with Mye Hye... In my mind I had almost given up on her, because she said she had a boyfriend. Anyway we talked about random stuff untill I kind of got the feeling something was kind of wrong with her... or rather untill I said she was random in a sms (implying that she has a random behaviour) Around here all hell broke lose... She called me all kinds of diffrent things, I hope she was kidding, most of the curses were in Korean, my roomate asked me while translating WTF did you say?

Then she said blablablabla can't talk to you now I'm going to study (in reality she was drinking I think, I don't know all the details...)... FF (fast forward a couple of hours) she seds me this random sms: What are u thinking on. I anwsered: At the moment I'm thinking on you. I asked her what are you thinking on? She replied: I'm thikning about you.

Here I acutally began to wonder maybe we can have a good conversation so I asked her: Can I ask why did you think of me... She went in the opposite direction by saying NO.... Now I was kind of confused, thinking hmm okay I burned my bridges and killed my own men....

Then I went in a new direction saying, if you could be anywhere in the world right now, were would you be now? She replied, I don't understand... Language barriers suck... Anyway after some explaining she sent the sms I was waiting for, but never thought would come: If u decide I would be there (I know u guys might not have been exposed to bad English but I have for the last month I understand what she meant). Then I got a fast reply saying: I don't kow u recive my msg. if u do plz tell me ur beanyplace. My anwser was: Well I don't really care about the place as long as it is with you I'm happy.

She sent me this sms back: 장온다 Everyone was sleeping at this time so I couldn't ask anyone, but I think it is goodnight but I'm not sure.... so I just sent, you can't leave me like this. I'm in the computer room if you are awake you should come... 10 minutes later she came..

She asked me all kinds of questions.. why I was mean to her, etc, etc, etc. People who know me, know that I'm not mean by nature, I don't want to be mean. So I explained myself that I'm so sorry if I ever hurt your feelings bla, bla bla, bla.... But I knew you had a boyfriend, so I thought it was dead race anyway.. . (actually I didn't say this last part but, I was thinking it in my head)...
She said something that she was waiting for me to take action (here again I was thinking you had a boyfriend)... bla bla bla. then she seemed kind of angry and said, don't message me again (in my head I went, okay I'm screwd, but what did I do wrong...?) Anyway she said goodbye and marched out from the PC room. I was so confused, that I began my very negative post... 10 minutes into my post she came back and sat next to me...

I closed the post and she began to talk to her friends on CYWORLD (kind of like Lunarstorm but so much bigger). She was writing so much to her friends, in Korean... I talked to my friends in Swedish.. telling them how fucked up my life was...

Anyway she began to talk with me at first the conversation was really icy, from my side..
We talked for maybe 2 hours, I actually got some of my questions answered so I was happy. Anyway it all turned out great for m that is, however there's still some questions. what am I going to do for a week, the biggest holiday in Korea are comming up Chosuk and Koreans spend Chosuk with their families... So I won't see her in a week.. I wonder how this will develop now, it took a really unexpected turn... Well I will keep you updated..

Sorry for the short ending, but I rather have some things to myself.

At the moment I;m writing this I'm high on Dopamins (I think it's called that) and I'm sitting on a Internet Cafe and I haven't sleept yet and my class is in 1.30 hour. I even tried to hack Kame_sennins wow account, but I couldnt, I had to patch and didn't have the patience to do it...

Well anyway peace out ya all!

MT, and my life gets more messed up etc....

So yesterday at 6.00 (18.00) we gathered at building A (building a is kind of like a bus terminal on campus). Why? for MT (Membership Training) also called drink as much as you can. It's a kind of like a thing for the students to get to know eachother (however I've been here a month it should have been done sooner in my opinion).

We went to a lodging place 1.30 hours from INJE University. when we unloaded our busses (there were two of them because we were around 100 students) we emidiatly began to play games. If it had been in Sweden the normal way of doing it would be to drink liqour during the games, here in Korea you do it after all the embaressing games. We were divided into 10 teams I actually managed to be on the same team as the girl I'm intrested in, random luck or really bad?

FF (fast forward) to around 00.00, here we actually began to drink alot of beer. The funny thing is most of the people at our MT got very drunk on very little, wich was very fun. we played alot of drinking games like Bunny, bunny, bunny, bunny, 31, 3,6,9 and some other games... I will teach you guys at home the rules.

Anyway it was a amazing all in all night people drinking and having fun.

On the other hand the girl who acts in a very odd way to me, acted in a even more odd way tonight... I don't understand her 1% .... Newsflash I know she has a boyfriend somewhere, I don't know where. So why does she act like this towards me, or is it just who misunderstands everything? Maybe she only wants to be friends, that's okay, if she were clear about her intentions. However I asked her about her boyfriend one time like a week ago and she didn't anwser... (that's not ver clear, I found out about her boyfriend from another source).

Either way, I was sitting on the pavement talking to a Chinese girl, who pulled me down, because she said that it was to hard to look up, so I should sit next to her (something going lost in translation, or maybe she was/is in to me?)
Anyway we talked alot, and then suddenly the girl I like came by, sits on the other side of me (so if I'm number 2, the chinese girl is number one, and the girl I like is number 3 it's something like this 3 2 1). Ah whatever I don't have the patience to call them by numbers, the girl I like her name is Mye Hye, and the Chinese girl's name is Zhong Jia.

Mye Hye was acting really, really really odd, not drunk odd, just odd. she was very kinostethic (means touching), and sitting really close, fidling with my hair etc..... This I really take as an IOI (Indicator of intrest), but if she has a boyfriend I'm to good of a person to do anything, or untill she explains herself.. after 2-3 hours of this. and diffrent people, talking to us. she still didn't leave me (the chinese girl left after 5 minutes... ( we didn't have kino)...

Anyway, she then has a 1-2 hour long cellphone call with someone, I don't know who. I'm really going to give up this girl I guess, but I don't really want to... However I know that it will probably only give me misery if continue down on this path.... One of my friends, had a really fucked up thing goiong for him for 3 years or how long was it? It wasn't really worth it... So it's better to cut your losses, girls fuck you up (your head)...

FF next day, we didn't do much we ate, played some couple soccer, and did some random games. then after that we had a few hours of free time, I could have actually have gone with Mye Hye and some other adoptees, but I took my stand and said I have better things to do. (me VS Mye Hye 1-0) I went to sleep in the outdoors it was amazing, untill the security guy came and woke me up, and I htink he said I couldn't sleep there. So I went to another place to sleep it was amazing to, a bench in a secluded area...

Then we went home and by time it is somewhere around 16.30 something. I got of the buss at INJE and stood there if there was any counting the students or whatever. and who comes by and stands next to me and talks to me... Yeah of course it was Mye Hye.... We walked to our dorm, talking about random things, and then again she touches my hair... So we say goodbye in the entrance and leaves. I'm not sure who won the point this, time, but I don't think it was me...

The hell that is my life......

Random ramblings II

The day before yesterday was really intresting We had a band playing outside in the open, from 6.00-7.00 it was really nice. then they showed this Japanese movie called Swing Girls ( a feel good comedy movie) It was nice but the subtitles were in Korean T_T. I will post some pictures of it later. It could however have been much better if it hadn't been for a misunderstanding (read the sms part bellow).

we had our English teaching class for the design students at INJE University. I was 15 minutes late due to really sucky ass bad planning. We had to throw a fake birthday surprise party for Rob, for the camera crew (yes they are still following us around everyday). It was okay though rob got cake in his face so it was worth it.

So anyway because I was late to class I offered the students to go 15 minutes early, because I was late. you think that everyone appily walks 15 minutes early? They didn't want that... They wanted to stay, untill the ordinary lesson ending time. I felt kind of bad then so I offered that I would stay 15 minutes later.. they really wanted that. in the end I stayed for 30 minutes longer than I had to but it was okey.

After that I went out to celebrate Rob's fake birthday. We went to Norebang (Karaoke), it really is so fun, I will probably never do it in Sweden but here it's really great!.
The thing about Korean culture really messes with your mind from time to time. The following messages is from a girl that I'm kind of intrested in or maybe not, my mind doesn't work to good at the moment. But before my messages here's the background of the story.

So I meet this girl on our fieldtrip day when we went to the movie set. If you read my previous posts you know when and where it was. She gave me a scroll that she did that day (Korean/Chinese something something written on a parchment). Nice for me because I didn't do one. In any other part of the world I would take her action as an IOI (indicator of interest).

However this is Korea the land of mystery, where guys can be rejected 10 times before the girl finally accepts him as a boyfriend. there's alot of wacky stories around here I can tell you that. Anyway back to my story, the girl who gave me her parchment, asked me about my phone number... I take that to as an IOI.... regretably I didn't have my phone so I couldn't take her number. or give her mine, the next time I meet her I gave her my number and she called me so I got her.

So later I think it was the same night she sent me an sms saying: Hey what are you doing? I take that as an IOI...

After that we talked on the phone a few times, she's been calling me. I definatly take that as an IOI.
We talk on a daily basis over SMS yes I take this as IOI's as well. I try to set up plans with her, but she is very busy, so I haven't got the chance yet... The thing is I'm not sure that she is intrested at all... Because this is F**king Korea, I don't know.

here's some of my messages I recived from her:

I am so sad
I won't go to far in explaining this message.

U didnt want to see that with me.. so id rather study ㅠㅠ im sleepy. have a fun ^^
This I got when I was awatching a movie and she misunderstood me completly. I had to go and cancel my teaching class so I had to leave her. she came and sat besides me, and I had to leave to cancel one of my English tutoring class... She went of to the library to study instead.

I would be really sad if u dont like me how do u do that 2 me. ㅠㅠ
This was after I was teasing here about me not liking her.

미얀 that means sorry ㅠㅠ I hope to with you but you should understand me ^^ㅋㅋ
This message I got after I was asking here to see a movie with me and she told me she was busy.

Plus I got these weird pointless phone calls that has IOI's all written over them.. but I just can't figure them out, like one that went somewhat like this.

Her: Hey where are you?
Me: Hey, I'm at Homeplus, blablablablablabla...
Her: Oh I'm going to Pusan now, blablablablabla...
Me: Ah okey blablablablabla, have fun.... (What I really was thinking was, why are you calling me if you are going away now????

Hm I think this is enough random ramblings for today...

Random things

So this korean girl said to me that she only likes Korean men among korean, Japanese and Chinese. I asked here why and she replied. Well Chinese men are to fat in general. Japanese men are to thin and short. Koreans are perfect... I don't really know what to say because I can't seperate Chinese from Japanese or Koreans for that matter either. the thing is some people think I'm either Chinese or Korean. you people who know me, know I'm not that fat so... I think she got got some issues of some sort, but I don't know maybe she really can seperate all the asians, who knows?

Hmm today was a sucky ass day in general I can't belive it, the Korean cultural class was so boring, for some reason, I mena it's not a hard class to pass, you just have to sit there and listen to him, but it was so hard to stay awake... After that I went to Gimhae city, Gimhae city is very big, but for some reason no one of the 30 cloth stores we went to sold tshirts with short sleeves. My roomate tried to explian that it's the end of the summer season you can only buy long sleeves now... LONG SLEEVES? I mean in Sweden you would be lucky to see anyone wear longsleeves, but here, everyone wears it because it's begining to get cold... Cold today was aroun 30 Celsius... cold..

I actaully have one more complaint then I will end my ramblings for today.. I was so hungry today, but when I saw the food I lost all my appetite (is it right?). The reason? There is no reason the food was actually good but I wasn't hungry, so now I'm probably going to be very hungry tonight, when curfew sets in..

Well this is it over and out...

Taekwondo among other things

So we have finally tried Taekwondo here in Korea. I did a little of Taekwondo in Sweden with Sven. hmm I can't really say how diffrent it is here from Sweden, because the trainings have been just for show of their skills infront of the camera team (yes they still follow us). However I haven't seen one belt under black (except us adoptees) so that's kind of funny.

Today I actually spoke Swedish for more than one hour, it felt good, to talk swedish, however it felt kind of weird to, I think my accent has changed somewhat, however I'm not sure...

I actually recived a letter from my adoption agency SWS. They actually found my birth parents who live in Seoul. I think i'm kind of numb at the moment, I haven't really taken any of it in yet. However it's kind of cool and I will meet them in the future, the question is only when.

Well I'm waiting for my classes to begin now so Imust go see ya.
(I will try and update my picture journal today or tomorrow)

Three T's

Today I got to borrow a cellphone from my friend Sooyeon, So now I can start to spend money on calling people... A good thing or a bad thing?

A typhon is passing by near Kimhae were INJE University is, it's kind of cool to see winds this strong, although it's a little scary because the typhon isn't even near here and still the wind is kind of insane...

I'm really considering on listening to The calling Wherever you will go.

Two museum and one movie set....

So we all the adoptees of ET went for a field trip day, plus some other random people from INJE Universty. The total was 10 adoptees 30 others. It all started with a 40 minutes delay, so most of us were kind of pissed, because we were out drinking yesterday. for some reason the adoptees had to in a little minibus (there's very limited space in it so we alll sit very uncomfortable) for the camera crew that's following us everyday requsted that. after 30 minutes Kati begins to throw up... .good job Kati (hangover)... So when we get to the bathroom stop (now known as bethroom stop internal joke). I start to talk with some guys on the other bus... After 2 minutes I realize that there's a lot of vacant seats so I change bus... the funny thing is that no one else does... well it's their loss not mine... I'm happy and I fall to sleep.

Fast Forward two hours and we arrive at this museum, I didn't really get that but I guess It was some big cultural thing, it was kind of boring after 15 minutes (not much to see). Then we ate some very sucpicious dinner like thing....

After that we went to a big big big big, movie set it was an entire village, it took maybe one hour to walk across it. they have this television show so they use it like all the time... it was kind of run down but kind of cool (a mix up). after a few hours of doing absolutly nothing besides sleeping, we went for a coal museum.....

The coal museum was proabably the most boring thing I've ever been to, it's comparable to a sandbox with cat poo in it... we were tere for 40 minutes watching drills and stones... "yawn"

Then we went to a railway with somekind of bicycle thing on it so you had to use your legs to get anywhere, well it was fun because you got to see the view, wich was very nice...

then we finally went home we actually played this game on the bus called zero, it's a little difficult to explain, but when I get home I will teach some of you that game, it could be an insane drinking game....

Tea Cermony

Today was a really great day, we had a appointment with one of the sponsors of the program. We were treated at her restaurants, that's suposed to be really famous around here. The food was really expensive there 28 000 Won compared to the usual food for 5000-7000. We were all treated so it was very good for me. The food itself were great, really good! Hard to describe though.

After that we went for a traditional tea Cermony, that was great because I"ve always wanted to try one... It was very expensive but we didn't have to pay for that either... It was a very special feeling... I've never had tea like that before in my life. I'm actually really thankful for being able to have experienced it.

After that we went to a tomb site, it was very cool to see, we don't have anything that resembeles this in Sweden it's to bad... this was really cool...

All in all it has been a great day, except for one thing that was that we had a camera team on our tail the whole day, for they are doin another show on us. So they are going to hang with us for a couple of weeks...

Great teacher me....

So This week we are supposed to have English conversation with the people from ET. Each adoptee has around 13-16 students. Except the group I'm in we are two adoptees in our group, not one. Anyway so yesterday we all the adoptees meet with his or her gtroup to get to know eachother, wich basicly means to get drunk....

So we went of to the place we were last week called Soley (something). To be honest in the beginning it was pretty messed up. The korean curse (also called shyness) was really showing it's supreme power... It was kind of funny actually, however after some beer, most of them started to be talkactive. then we started to do drinking games.... For some reason the me and the other adoptee (Anemae) lost the whole time. I wasn't that happy about that...

BTW Anemaes hair didn't look shit at all... Dunno why she was so upset...

Now I have alot of studying to do untill my Korean class begins in 2 hours....

Hair

So Anemae, the girl from Holland went for a haircut yesterday, and she's so freaked out about her hair. Naturally I think it is hilarious and can't wait untill I see her.. ^^

I Think I'm in Love

The things I've experienced here in Korea from 24th of August untill the 9th of September has been so giving. I can't really express it in fitting words, but the things I've seen, touched, experienced and so forth has been so much worth it. I really love it here.

In this moment I'm with my host family again. I feel kind of bad because I want to be with them buton the other hand I don't. What can you do, they are so good people. but I want to see the people at the ET dorm. Anyway this might be good for me I might even get some studying done while I'm here, not so much distractions here. I really need to up my Korean language... I so suck at the moment. but it's hard it's so diffrent from any other language I've encountered before.. FFS give me ROMANJI letters...

Sun's Birthday

So the first of the adoptees had her first birthday celebrated in Korea. In preparation I actually cut my hair it cost around four dollars to get a haircut here, and then you actually get a shower to.. first time for that.

Anyway we went out around 18.00 we went for this restaurant and ate tons of meet, Sun the birthday girl got some presents and cake. After the dinner that took 1.5 hour or something we went for Norebang (Karaoke). Norebang in Korea is that you rent this little room for your group and then you stay in there so it's kind of private. Anyway it was so much fun we all sang and drank alot of liquer and beer so some of us really got wasted so it was a nice sight.

We did Norebang for about 2 hours or something the total bill was about 95 dollars for 11 people so it was cheap if you consider all the singing and all the booze. One of us passed out and had to be taken home. We have our curfew at 23.00 so we had to be back early but we got one hour more because it was Sun's birthday.... Anyway we went to Junco (a bar) for awhile after the Norebang. After that I went home a really great evening in all.

Tv KNN

Actually yesterday at 18.20 Korean time I was on national tv, it was very weird to see it. It was only a short clip about adoption in Korea, they are planning on a followup or so I hear it will be shot in october or something. I'm not looking forward to it, because having a camera up in your face is kind of annoying in the long run..

Still two weeks in Korea and already on national tv... hmm beat that.. haha ^^ F**k I'm boored at the moment, 4 hours of intense Korean language studies, my head really feels like a mashed potato...

Ah before I forget today is Sun's birthdat (Swedish adoptee) so we are going for Noreabang (aka Karaoke) tonight I think.

Speech

So yesterday I had my second Korean class, it was even worse than the first, I have such a hard time with it. But I must learn it all soon...

Anyway we had our formal Orientation for all the people at ET, the adoptees and the chinese students had to hold a speech. Everyone was saying blablablablaba I come from here, I do that, my major is, I want to get along with everyone. Me on the other hand went in another direction: Hi my name is Jonathan, I come from sweden. blablablabla. I'm single so if you're a girl you can call me I stay in room 215, that's 2 1 5... They actually loved it I think

After the orientation we went out for drinks, not everyone but a few of us so we were a group of 40 people that was fun. we have our curfew at 23.00 so we couldn't stay so long, but it was fun really fun I must ask around for some pictures.

First class, second class

So today we had our first classes here at INJE University Korean and cultural class. The first thing we encountered when we sat down on our Korean language class was a written test. To test your Korean language skills. I knew nothing blnak papper thus I came in the retarded group... Then followed a two hour hammering session and stuffing of information to try and learn Hangul in 2 hours... It's so hard if you're not used to it. So as I'm writing this I desperatly try to learn it untill tomorrow...

The Korean cultural class on the other hand was kind of fun you just sat there and listened... Very, very easy....

Today

After wakeing up this wonderful saturday at 09.30 I went up, the kids at my host family are going to school so they have school on saturday. Only to 17.00 because it's saturday... (did you get the bad joke?).

At 12.00 my adoptee friend came to me, with a camera crew, who wants to make a documentrary that's actually going to be aired, next week.. yes on tv... So after one week in Korea I get to be on tv... It will probably all look like hell.. anyway he followed us around the whole day. nothing much happened. Except one thing we were kind of being thought some things in the Korean garden, and my Nouna (elder sister she wants me to call her that, the mom of the family) told me only to pick the big leaves and I did. Suddenly Nouna tells me pick the small leave I do... then she slaps me playfully on the hand and scolds me. I go WTF in my head. Then I realize that the camera man wanted to have it on film... So if anyone who reads this ever see the documentary. I didn't do anything wrong I got fucking tricked...

Then we ate and ate, and ate some more... I wonder ifKoreans have a mini black hole in their bodies, because they eat so much food that it is scary... (but it's so good)

Well that's all for now smell ya later.. by the way I don't tell all stuff inmy blogg, somethings I do actually keep to myself.. haha owned.. ah I'm tired...

So tired...

Yesterday was really intresting we had our meeting with our sponsors for the program. We had a little cermony we read all the dormitory regulations aloud, my luck I had to read the most, my luck again I read out loud worst of all...

After the cermony the sponsors (mainly older women) they wanted to see how we were living at ET. haha I thought that they just could see the girls rooms, because women aren't allowed on the mens floors. Boy was I owned.. they did go to my room.. they laughed in Korean over something dunno what, but I think it was something bad...

Then it was time for lunch, that was realy great I will post pictures of that. One of the americans (he doesn't seem to be that bright, might be to early for a verdict on him). It was the first time for him eating Korean food (he likes burgers americans...) he looked kind of scared...

At 16.00 Hee Jung told me and another Korean adoptee that we were going to see our host families. awesome we thought. what we didn't know was that we were going to stay there to monday (owned). So we had to run and pack our stuff and jump into a car with a man we had known for 10 minutes.. I mean this is the one thing they always told you as little don't go with strangers, but this is Korea so I guess you actually can go with strangers.

Anyway we went out eating once again (Korean people eat so much it's unbeliveble I'm sure that 6 hours of the day are for eating if you are Korean)...

Me and my friends host families are actually related so that's good for then I can see my friend, because the families usually hangs around with eachother.

After I got dropped of at my host family and the unknown man disapperaed with my friend (no she didn't get raped... this is Korea) I had 30 minutes for myself, before going somewhere the clock was around 21.00 I zapped thru the channels the first time I've looked on tv here in Korea. What the fuck do I encounter tv-channels only dedicated to videogames, Starcraft matches live, with fans chanting their idol geek to victory... (Korea is weird)...

Then we went to busan to the beach the bridge was fricking awersome the pictures don't justify it at all. then we went up to thei apartment wich were on the 23th floor a stone throw from the beach in Busan, the 2nd greatest city in Korea. I don't want to imagine how much that apartment must have costed.

Appointment

Hmm today I helped a girl to move in to her room on the 5th floor of English town. for that she treated me for lunch (she went with us to the beach and yes I forgot her name). These last days I've helped alot of people to move into their rooms, I guess I'm to nice....

Around 11.00 I showed to adoptees the main street and were stuff is located on campus.

After lunch (free lunch to me ^^) with the moving girl, another girl from the beach and two adoptees we went to home plus (a really large convinient store think I wrote about it). I don't know why but Korean have this unsaid rule that the man should push the cart (why)... Then they have this rule welll you should carry all the heavy stuff to.... (why)...
I wonder what the girls do..

When we came back to English Town around 14.30 I had another appointment with my roomate to look at cellphones (and eat), because you can't use a Swedish cellphone in Korea thanks to their system CDMA. Anyway after 1.5 hour I came to the conclusion if I were to buy a used phone it would automatically cost me at least 180-190 dollars, and that was when the phone costed 28 dollars the rest is just other expenses.. I wasn't really happy then.

The crash course in mobile hunting came to a devastating end because I'm not willing to spend that much money. 10 minutes after this (I had yet another appointment) I showed one adoptee to Home Plus, some store clerks actually begins to remember me now (I almost go there once a day or even more)...

Again when we came back to English Town we meet some other people from the adoptee program and made another appointment for dinner 19.00.
So we were like 6 adoptees for dinner they all ate I didn't I just went with them. One actually got a huge bug in her soup and freaked out it was funny I think I have a picture of that. After that we wanted to drink some Soyu (almost like Korean Sake)? we found this place called Junco it was really cool I have to upload some pictures of that. Korean bar culture is like this you get several snacks (even food for free) but you should order like fruit or food to your drinks, otherwise you are being rude...

The day before yesterday evening

Well I guess the pacipitants of the Korean adoptee program are gathered here. I guess most of them are nice, However I have my doubt conearning a few of them.

Anyway today was really great you could actually walk around today without sweating like a pig the weather was kind of like Swedish weather...

Tuesday, August 29, 2006

So today?

Today when I got out in the hallway my floorchecker and friend let's call him Harry, it's easier for us all. Anyway he handed me the phone and said call Kim (adoptee from the last semester) the thing was the phone was already ringing, when Kim anwsered I bet he was as surprised as me..
at 11,00 Kim came by ET for lunch with meand two adoptees and some other people, it was great actually, except the green thingy, we ate because it was really spicy, not as bad as the chicken on a stick but still very hot...

Then I went for a sightseeing alone in Kimhae, I will probably post some pictures of it later.

Yesterday

Yesterday I went out on my own in Kimhae, it was a really bad idea actually, because it was so hot, gazing sun, and I didn't really know where to go. anyway nothing much happened took several random pictures, went to a restaurant somewhere. the cooking lady who I actually took some pictures of, insisted on trying to teach me how to eat with chopsticks, and slize my food, I guess she thought I was retarded or something, untill she finally realized I was from Sweden.

After that I went home to ET and sleept for awhile then I actually meet my Internet buddy Sooyeon (I think it's spelled that way at least...) she was realy humerous and I really liked her.

Monday, August 28, 2006

Why?

This night was the worst night yet in Korea, we have radiators in our room, and some guy thought it would be a good idea to test them last night.

The thing was the test wasn't like a fast on and off, no it had to go on thru the whole night, so it's like so warm, without the radiator, but with it it's murder.... we couldn't sleep...

by the way the clock is around 08.30 Koreans go up like 5 to go to school...

English Town

So I finally switched dorm now Iknow live at English Town instead of Upper Dorm. English Town is very small compared to upper dorm, it feels a little more cozy than, Upper Dorm, we are only like 150 studens instead of 2000 (Upper Dorm). I have actually one roomate I haven't seen him yet, but if he snores he's dead meat... I will upload some pictures later of my room and such at: http://fudgevalley.bilddagboken.se/
So you can see what it looks like..

One funny thing at English Town is that you have to speak English, and like no one does it they speak Korean, Chinese, but not English, even the gatekeeper doesn't understand a word of English.

Funny things I've tried so far part I

Hmm today I've had chicken feet, and chicken neck, it was really good actually but I don't think it ever will come to Sweden.

Eating raw fish?

So this night I went up for some water, when I reached the toilets I meet with one of the checkers (a checker checks all the rooms at 23.00 to see that eveyone is inside). The checker who by the way is very nice, has been out drinking, to much it seems.. he,s throwing up and his Chinese roomates takes pictures of him.

When we finaly got him to bed, the chinese guys started to rub his eyelids, and mouth with tiger lipbalm. He didn't like that.. At that moment I made a mentalnote to myself, don't get this drunk with these two Chinese people...

The next day I was supposed to wake up the checkerm at 07.30 because a beach trip was scheduled. I was kind of hesitating because I didn't think he would wake up, every sane swedish person would go *-fuck of leave me alone* to my amazement he woke up in the blink of an eye, and said, what time is it.. When I said it was 07.30 he just went okay, and went up... (the korean spirit is frightening (lol)).

We took the buss from Kimhae to Busan were we meet alot f other people, they were all very nice and funny, it's only to bad that I don't know what they are saying.. I have to learn Korean, like now,,, Anyway the beach was awesome one of the best beaches I've ever been to. The funny thing about Koreans is that they mostly swim around fully dressed, no bikini's the whole day. many koreans can't swim so they have bojs out in the water so you can't swim past them, because if you do, you will have an angry korean lifeguard blowing a whistle and you have to get back...

Yeah the sun was actually killing me it was the first time it was up, since I've got here, and it was murder +the humidity... so as I write this the morning after, I am so sunburnt, I'm having a hard time keeping my posture up...

Anyway after the beache we went to the fish market, the fishmarket in Korea consists of living fish, not dead, and the fish swims around in tanks. when you order your fish they kill it for you.. Anyway after we got our really fresh fish. We made a deal with a restaurant 500m from the fish market, and in 5 minutes we got served our freshly killed fish raw.. So now I've actually eaten raw squid, and some fishes (don't remember their names)...

Friday, August 25, 2006

28 plates for three people WTF!

After wakeing up this beatiful humid morning (the humidity is killing you, if you haven't experienced a weather simillar to this you have not, I repeat not experienced Korean weather) You take a shower 2 minutes later you sweat like a pig.. anyway I have to wait untill 11.00 because me and Hee Jung had set a time so she could show me around the city (Kimhae). When she arrives she takes me to lunch (breakfast for me) I don't get much down, because my stomache is not used to Korean food yet.

After that we go and meet two of her friends, and guess what they want to eat so I go with them I don't eat anything though. The food ir really, really freakish well made compared to Swedish standards I can't belive my eyes.. and it's dirt cheap like 5 dollars or something..

The dinner went so fast, because Koreans seems to be champions when it comes to speed eating, unbeliveble... When they are finished we separate again and Hee Jung takes me to the supermarket.. It's very odd compared to what I'm used to. I mean they have like 15 times more store clerks than in Sweden.. They have really peculiar food I tried Smashed little crabs... it was hot like all the food in Korea. by the way you haven't eaten hot food if you haven't eaten Korean food I repeat you haven't eaten hot food if you haven't eaten Korean food, because this is the truth..

Later on I'm by myself I go back to the supermarket to try and buy one piece of soap.. The store clerks are very helpful but they don't understand a word of English.. This one girl asks me blablablablabla (in korean) I say I'm sorry I only know English, She imediatly begins to laugh/blush, and runs away for her clerk friend. So what happens is one clerk becomes 2 clerks, 2 clerks suddenly becomes 3 this goes on and on untill they finally manages to be 7 clerks for just me.. After a major battle in trying to understand each other English (I win), one of them understands and makes a geasture for me to follow her. I do and she takes me to some expensive rice soap, that supposedly lightens your skin.. I don't want to buy i, because it is expensive and I'm cheap at the moment. However I can't put it down either because they have put so much effort into the whole thing now, so I buy it (they win)..

The evening is spent at a traditionell restaurant, it's awesome first time for me sitting on the floor and eating. the food itsel is mind blowing we are 3 persons and we get 28 plates (small) but diffrent stuff on each and everyone.. it taste good, or most it does anyway.. we can't even finish it so for this grand meal we pay a total of 18 dollars that included a bottle of seyuu (I think it's spelled that way) Koreans anwser to Sake.

INJE Upper Dorm

So I arrived to the airport of Kimahae, my final destination, I actually managed to get out of the plane very quickly, but as it turned out my bag came out last..
Anyway after getting out the main entrance hall I meet Hee Jung (she's manageing the Korean adopteeprogram) and her roomate Ineee maybe?
Anyway the first two things I see when I left the Korean airport was a man drunk ass hell being adressed by a police officer, a women throwing out something that was actually burning, from her car...

When we finally arrived at INJE, I'm getting placed in the upper dorm, to give you an image of it I can say it's on the top of a hill, and it's pain to walk up there.. Anyway as soon as I reach the main building, I hear this rumbling creacendo, it's mosquitos and the sound is so loud, insane. Anyway I get to meet some Korean and Chinese who stay in the upper dorm before getting transfered to English town (I'm getting transfered there to august 28 maybe).

I give them some Laktris they tell me it taste like shit, I agree ^^, because yo have to be a fool to enjoy it.

Finally after like 40 hours being awake nonstop, just for the sake of wakeing up at the right time in the morning (Korean time is 7 hours before Swedish time) I get to sleep, in this warm, humid room with a blanket that's ten time as thick as I want it to be. I fall asleep.

Seoul Airport

Yepp finally arrived in Sout Korea after 5 liters of water, several juice packages, odd meals and snacks...

Not to forget an elderly Japanese man whou couldn't speak anything but japanese so the conversation was stalled. Anyway sitting at the airport made me realize several things about the Korean people 1 the love digitalcameras. I've been sitting at the exact same spot and about 20 groups of Koreans have passed me, they all line up and then they take a picture...
2 Koreans are tall not everyone but most of them are tall.

3 Koreans are sucky in English in general, you can't talk to people because they can't understand you they just shake their head...

Hmm I tried to write this post 3 times at a telephoneboth, the thing was that could never complete the post because, it had a 9minute limit, this took me three times to get into my head, the first time I was in the WTF (what the fuck) state.. I do blame the Jetlag though... man I feel like shit I haven't sleept since I left Sweden that's more than 30hours.. I really have to be awake so no one tries to snatch my luggage..

well bye bye this is it from Seoul
